So normally on Sundays my meals consist of coffee and egg bites because I can eat them quickly between worship service, coffee hour, staff meeting, and Zoom meetings.

But have y’all heard of Nourish: UU Dinner Church Consultants? Because of the intentional reminder to prepare a dinner to eat together during Rev. Theresa Ninán Soto’s installation, I’m sharing a virtual meal with so many friends. Aisha Ansano and Emily Conger sent us, or asked us to gather: olives, almonds, carrots, hummus, crackers, tangerine Le Croix and a cupcake. I’m so happy, fed, and nourished by this community and this food.

You should have them at your church. This is magical and embodied and simple and revolutionary.

— Janine Gelsinger, Executive Director, UU Justice Arizona

During the Nourish worship at the UUMA Institute, Rev. Elizabeth Bukey reimagined their old church building, in need of costly repairs, as a flowerpot, budding with possibility.

I have loved working and worshipping with Nourish! Revs. Aisha and Emily made the planning process simple and easy. They are warm, confident, and collaborative.

As well as hiring Nourish for a vespers service for my congregation, I’ve been blessed to be a congregant in multiple services with them. Revs. Aisha and Emily are as skilled at adding elements to complement an existing service as they are at leading an entire service. Their Five Mindful Bites during Rev. Theresa Soto’s installation felt like deep and easy breaths, good pauses to check in with my body after big moments in the service.

Nourish’s dinner church translates surprisingly well to online services. The ritual of taking in the meal with all of my senses was grounding. And the act of breaking bread together, even apart, was invigorating. Though each of us was in our own Zoom box, I felt connected to Revs. Aisha and Emily and to my fellow worship participants. As a minister, I felt ministered to.

I highly recommend Nourish Dinner Church Consultants!

We attended Refuel three times this month with Rev. Emily Conger, and each session was better than the last. They were peaceful and inspiring, well planned, well executed and gave good opportunities for connecting.

THANK YOU for this service! Flowing, light, serious, touching. I thought the use of breakout rooms was a great way to let us see and interact with a small group of people who we have not interacted with for 14 months. That was a genius idea. I took it as a "warm up" to when we will be together in person, I hope in the next few months... Blessings to all of you, well thought out, and presented. THANK YOU.

- Jean Cannella, Brunch Church participant

Having something different happen during worship that was awesome and skillful showed folks that our traditions are powerful enough to bring us together, even through screens.

It was a really powerful experience to see people holding things up in their Zoom windows. Seeing people really get into it and come together is so amazing. They needed it and so did I.

- Rev. Elizabeth M. Ide, Senior Minister, First Church in Salem, Unitarian Universalist
